The architecture of Mariupol is characterized by the following styles: provincial Classicism , Ukrainian Gothic and Baroque. The old town is built largely in the modern and classical styles. However, the historic center of the city gained its modern landscape thanks to chief architect Victor Nelson, who designed many of the buildings which are now historic, federally-protected entities. 2018 became the year known for the rebirth of Mariupol. This year held many significant reconstructions of numerous houses and plazas. The city adopted a new appearance and a new life while keeping its uniqueness and varied architecture.

The beauty of the city at night speaks for itself. It is wonderful not only in the daytime, but at night too. The houses are light up brightly, cheering up every citizen. In the evening, you can always walk down the street, enjoying the magnificent surroundings. The buildings suffered greatly from the shootings, but are nearing reconstruction
