Description
Sunset, Sea of Azov, Ukraine, Mariupol
Sea of Azov Mariupol is located on the coast of the Sea of Azov. The Sea of Azov is the smallest sea on Earth. Its maximum depth is only 13 meters. Thanks to the shallow water, the swimming season opens at the end of May for tourists that come for vacation. And in the middle of summer, the water temperature reaches 28-30 degrees. Residents of Mariupol loved to walk along the waterfront. Vacation at the Sea of Azov is not only pleasant, but also healthy. Its waters hold 92 essential minerals for humans. The Sea of Azov is very rich in iodine, which contributed to the treatment and prevention of many diseases; it is also very abundant with a variety of fish, thanks to which many people survived during the Great Patriotic War. Mariupol was captured in parts by units of the 3rd Panzer Corps of the 1st Panzer Group of the Wehrmacht. The occupation of the city lasted almost 2 years (from October 8, 1941 to September 10, 1943). Mariupol was in the frontline zone for 6 months. It was incorporated in the control zone of the military command. All of the power belonged to the commanders of the German troops with the widest authorities. During occupation by the Nazis, around 10 thousand civilians were shot in the city, about 50 thousand young Mariupol residents were driven to Germany, and around 36 thousand Soviet prisoners of war died of starvation and disease in concentration camps in the city. A second occupation of the city took place on February 24, 2022. The invaders broke in like barbarians at a time when people were sleeping peacefully. People were sitting in the basements of their houses, the elderly were dying of hunger and cold in their apartments, and they were burying those who died in the courtyards of houses, while Russian aircraft bombed the besieged city day and night.
